This video irritates me. How can anyone compare child health insurance to pet health insurance? It is apples and oranges. Yes, many people have children that are not insured. I would imagine that those same people do not carry pet health insurance for their pets either. A similar concept is true for those who do have health insurance for their children. They may or may not have pet health insurance for their dog or cat. It's an example of economics, not values. I am not going to feel guilty about uninsured Americans because I have pet health insurance. That's just silly. I would have a real problem with someone who had pet insurance for their dog, cat, or exotic snake but ignored the health needs of their children. I really don't see this as happening, even in the poorest neighborhoods. I plan to purchase health insurance for my dog (who I consider a member of my family) and will make no relationship judgment regarding child health care except to say that if I have enough money to own a pet and have pet health insurance, maybe I could spare a little for others who have far, far less coverage for their family.
