At this time of the year, when we are madly running around looking for unique and different Christmas presents for our friends and family, don't forget about your local pet supply store. You would be surprised what you can find there that would make a great and thoughtful Christmas present. For instance, I gave one of my children a book about how to train young horses the year she bought her first colt. Of course, there are the usual pets you could give a person for Christmas, though I wouldn't do that unless I had permission from the person involved or the parent of the child you might be buying for. Another time I bought a stuffed puppy, a collar and some puppy clothes as a gift for one of my kids from the local pet supply store. Don't forget about the pets themselves. I always buy a little something from the pet supply store for my dogs at Christmas. Usually it's a new toy for them to demolish, but I always buy them something. My kids remind me each Christmas and like to go with me because it's fun for them to look around the pet supply store for gifts for the dogs.
